【Competition Introduction】


—We believe that every child has a "secret train that can drive to the future" hidden in their drawer

"Design a train that takes us to explore the future"

Participants are encouraged to imagine future modes of transportation, such as eco-trains, space trains or hyper-fast trains.

Purpose

1. To stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields among children and young people.

2. Cultivate innovative thinking, imagination and creativity.

3. Improve teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills.

4. Enhance awareness of environmental protection, sustainable development and future transportation.

【Competition Theme】

Theme: "Train Discovery" Future Train Design/Drawing Competition

The "Future Dream Journey" painting competition aims to inspire young people's imagination and creativity for the future, and to express their unique insights into scientific and technological progress, environmental protection, social harmony and personal dreams through the art form of painting. We encourage participants to be bold in their ideas and present the future world in their minds in the form of visual art. Whether it is a sci-fi urban landscape, a warm and natural rural life, a fantasy wonderland, a superhero dream or an interstellar space adventure, these are all works we look forward to seeing.

Competition Format

Design Phase

Participants submit their train designs, which can be hand drawings, digital artwork or simple physical models (for example, made from cardboard, Lego or recycled materials).

The design should include the following elements:

The appearance of the train (shape, color, etc.)

Function (e.g. power source, special purpose)

A brief description (50-200 words) explaining the train's features and inspiration.

Submission method

Online submission: Scan or take a photo of your work and upload it to the competition website.

【 Game Highlights 】

1. International Stage: This is a creative event connecting young people around the world. Your work will have the opportunity to shine on the international stage, and you will communicate with young artists from all over the world and share each other's creativity and dreams.

2. Professional judges: The competition will invite internationally renowned artists, designers and education experts to form a judging panel to ensure the fairness and professionalism of the competition and provide valuable feedback and guidance to the contestants.

3. Honorary Awards: In addition to honorary certificates and trophies, outstanding entries will have the opportunity to be included in the official album or online exhibition, showcasing your talent to a global audience.

4. Public voting: The works are open to public voting for the "Future Little Engineer" award. Show your talent to the public. The top 3 in each group will receive a beautiful gift .

【 Important Dates】

Deadline for registration and submission of works: From now until June 21, 2025

Results announcement date: mid-to-late June 2025

Award and certificate delivery date: * The Association will deliver the award and certificate by SF Express within 90 working days after the official results are announced.

Exhibition-Hong Kong

Eligibility: All participants in this competition

Exhibitor quota: 300

Exhibition date: early December 2025

Exhibition venue: To be announced

Exhibition-France

Our association is fortunate to cooperate with the French art group Institut Français des Arts et de l'Éducation (IFAE) to jointly organize youth art competitions and French exhibitions every year. Excellent works are invited to participate in the four quarterly competitions of the school year. The purpose is to promote the popularization of art education and promote artistic exchanges among international youth.

Eligibility: All participants with outstanding works in this competition

Exhibitor quota: 188

Paris exhibition date: early January 2026

Paris Exhibition Venue: To be announced

* Early Bird Discount Deadline: October 15, 2025 (You must register for the exhibition at the same time as submitting your work to enjoy the discount)

【 Participation Fee 】

Submit one work: HK$300 (including one award, certificate and trophy)
Hong Kong Exhibition Fee: Early Bird* HK$250 | Regular Price HK$380

*All entries in this competition are eligible to be exhibited

Paris Exhibition Fee: Early Bird* HK$550 | Regular Price HK$600
*All outstanding works of this competition will be eligible to participate in the exhibition

【 Awards 】

**Individual Awards **

In each competition category, the following individual awards are given in order of scores:

Champion (1 in each group )
Award-winning trophy and physical certificate

Second place, third place, fourth place (2-3 in each group)
Award trophy and physical certificate

Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards (each accounting for approximately 30%)
A medal and a physical certificate will be awarded

Active Participation Award <br />Will receive a medal and a physical certificate
*Awards will be given out approximately three months after the results are announced.

** Group Award **

-Outstanding Training Award: Calculated based on the number of entries from the group (school, studio or teacher), with gold, silver and bronze awards. The cumulative number of entries from all the association's competitions this school year will also be counted.

-Outstanding Art Education Award: (Students nominated by the instructor win the first, second and third place in this final) Participants who complete the competition without winning any awards will be issued a participation certificate.

【Entry Rules】

Participants can choose their own painting tools and paints.

1. This competition requires submission of electronic files.

2. The size of the work should not be less than A4 and not larger than A3 .

3. Electronically drawn works are acceptable, but works generated by computer AI or using correction fluid or correction tape are not acceptable.

4. The Association reserves the right to make the final decision on the use of works.

5. The works can be in any form, such as oil painting, watercolor, colored pencil painting, ink painting, printmaking, digital painting, etc., with no limit on size, but the originality and integrity of the works must be guaranteed.

【 Evaluation Criteria 】
  • Drawing skills: 25%
  • Coloring Skills: 25%
  • Storytelling of the painting: 25%
  • Content Creativity 25%

**In person:

**As a group (5 students or more):
Download the group form and email it with 1) the form, 2) the entry slip, and 3) the electronic copy of the work to info@wacachk.org
